Alfred F. Alfonso

1920-2006

Services and burial will be March 3 at Hawaiian Memorial Park for Alfred F. Alfonso, 85, who died Jan. 31, 2006, in Carson City.

Mr. Alfonso was born July 15, 1920, in Kalopa, Hawaii, to John and Emily "Ferreira" Alfonso. He married his wife, Lucille, November 1943 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He had a high school education and worked for the city and county of Honolulu, Hawaii as a machinist. A resident of Carson City for the past five years, moving here from Vancouver, Wash. He belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille, Dec. 30, 1990, in Vancouver, Wash., and brother Bill and sisters Florence and Gloria of Hawaii.

He is survived by two sons, Rodney A. Alfonso of Minden and Wayne J. Alfonso of Vancouver, Wash.; sister Victoria Silva of Honokaa, Hawaii; brother George Alfonso of Auburn, Wash.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith in Carson City.

Jeffrey B. Choquette

1939-2006

A memorial mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Feb. 11 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 3433 Somerset Ave., Castro Valley, Calif. for Jeffrey B. Choquette, 66, of Minden, who died Jan. 27, 2006 in Carson City.

Mr. Choquette was born April 29, 1939 in Culver City to Leon and Genevieve Choquette. A former resident of San Ramon for many years, he was the owner of Wirth International in Hayward, Calif. He served in the Air Force. He married Susan Choquette in Minden, Dec. 31, 1997 and has been a resident of Minden for nine years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Kimberly Choquette and his brother Robert Wirth. He is survived by his wife Susan Choquette of Minden, three children, Steven Choquette, Derek Choquette and Becky Crowther all of California.

He is also survived by one brother and three sisters, all from West Virginia and six grandchildren.

Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City. Cremation will take place at Walton's Sierra Crematory in Carson City. Robert James

Thompson

1940-2006

A memorial service is 10-11 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Carson City for Robert James Thompson, 65, who died Feb. 4, 2006, at his home in Dayton.

Mr. Thompson was born April 25, 1940, in Chicago, Ill., to Julius and Eleanor "Grimes" Thompson. He was a resident of Dayton since 1999. He married Carole McManamon in 1987 in Elmhurst, Ill.

He worked for the North Suburban Division U.S. Postal Service in Illinois as an accountant and service clerk for 32 years. He was the recipient of numerous achievement and recognition awards-his dedication and work ethic attained him 2500 hours of leave. He was a collector of over 10,000 doo wop, R&B, early pop, rock-a-billy and 50s rock and roll records. He was known nationwide by other record collectors for his in-depth musical knowledge and collected works.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Mary Vogel. He is survived by his wife Carole Thompson; stepchildren Teresa, Patrick, Michael and Heather McManamon; grandson Jeffrey Patrick Crowe.

He is also survived by his sisters Annabelle and her husband Bob Luhr, Carol Miller, brother Jerome Thompson and his wife Judy as well as many nieces and nephews.
