New store brings groceries to Minden

Minden's first grocery store in recent memory opened Feb. 3 in Minden Village. Manager Pam McClain said Carson Valley residents were looking forward to the opening of Sierra Nevada Trading Co.

"We got a real positive response from the community," McClain said. "They said things like we had a great looking store, that the deli was a hit and that they liked the meat department."

The store managers asked for input from residents to let them know what they would like to see in the store.

"They said they wanted more bulk food, some additional items in the service deli and some additional cheeses," said McClain. "We have more products coming. We're still encouraging customers to give feedback."

Sierra Nevada Trading Co. features a soup and salad bar at the full-service deli, a seafood and butcher counter, bakery, dairy, produce and coffee bar.

"We hope we're keeping the community happy," said McClain. "We have a local staff who have great interaction with the community. We've created a friendlier environment."

Sierra Nevada Trading Co. is located at the corner of Lucerne Street and Ironwood Drive in Minden Village. Hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., 7 days a week.
