Carson Valley Pops Orchestra presents "From Tales of Vienna to Tango Argentino," a free concert.
The Carson Valley Pops Orchestra, under the direction of Danny Yale, invites you on a musical journey to Latin America, Vienna, Paris and New York with their Sunday concert "From Tales of Vienna to Tango Argentino" 4 p.m. on Feb. 19 at CVIC Hall in Minden.
Selections will include Tales From The Vienna Woods by Strauss; El Choclo (Tango Argentino); El Cumbanchero; NYC - Here's To The Big Apple; Broadway Tonight!; An American in Paris Suite by George Gershwin; Variations on a Mozart Theme; Gilbert and Sullivan excerpts from HMS Pinafore, The Mikado and Pirates of Penzance; and excerpts from The New World Symphony. Orchestra member and first violinist, Michael Lesmes, will be the featured soloist in the first movement of the Bruch Violin Concerto in G minor.
The orchestra will also conduct a raffle of artwork donated by award-winning Minden artist, Margie Leslie, and a $100 gift certificate toward carpet, upholstery or tile and grout cleaning by the owner of A Better Carpet Cleaner. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
