Nominations are being accepted by the Douglas County Historical Society for women who have made a significant historical contribution to the quality of life in Douglas County.
The woman nominated, living or deceased, must live or have lived in Douglas County.
The deadline for submitting nominations for Douglas County women has been changed to Feb. 23. Nominating packets may be picked up at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395 in Gardnerville or by calling Marlena Hellwinkel at 782-2010.
"Douglas County Women: Footsteps in History" is the theme chosen for the Douglas County Historical Society's seventh annual Women's History Remembering Project. Six women will be honored at a reception on March 12.
Submit your nomination to honor a woman you believe has helped make a contribution to life in Douglas County.
