Residents have a chance to meet the five people vying for the position of Douglas County Superintendent of Schools.
Interviews began Tuesday with David Freeman, the current superintendent of the Placerville Union School District.
The candidate selection process continues today with interviews of Silverado High School principal Mark Coleman of Las Vegas and Rodney Kessler, superintendent of Johnson County School District 1 in Buffalo, Wyo. Coleman's interview is from 4-6 p.m. and Kessler's interview is from 6-8 p.m.
On Thursday, Dr. Debra Bradley is interviewed from 4-6 p.m. and Carol Lark's interview is from 6-8 p.m. Bradley is consultant for the California Department of Education in Los Angeles. Lark is assistant superintendent of the Southeast Region of the Clark County School District in Las Vegas.
All interviews are conducted in Douglas High School's Media Center and the public is invited to attend.
The school board will meet Friday at 5 p.m., also at the media center, to discuss which of the candidates will continue in the superintendent selection process.
The goal is to announce a new superintendent in the regular school board meeting Feb. 14.
