A lone gunman robbed the Johnson Lane General Store early Friday taking an undisclosed amount of cash and fleeing on foot, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
Sgt. Tom Mezzetta said the suspect entered the store at 4:35 a.m. and confronted the female clerk and two male customers. The gunman was wearing a ski mask pulled over his face and ordered the patrons not to move.
"The gunman was given an undisclosed amount of cash from the register at which point he fled the store and was last seen headed towards Clapham Lane on foot," Mezzetta said.
The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 20 years old or younger. He is 5 feet to 5 feet 4 inches tall with a thin build.
Mezzetta said the gunman was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black jacket.
He said investigators are reviewing evidence and video surveillance.
Secret Witness is offering a reward of up to $500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the gunman.
Friday's armed robbery was the second in Carson Valley in less than two months.
On Nov. 22, a gunman robbed the Minden branch of Bank of America.
Suspect Steven Simmons, 26, is to appear in Douglas County District Court on Monday on a charge of robbery with the use of a deadly weapon.
