The East Fork Gallery in Gardnerville is featuring the works of Lynn Kelly in February.
Kelly, a self-taught artist, specializes in landscapes created in acrylics depicting scenes of Nevada and California.
Kelly started painting using her husband's shirt boards as a canvas, with left-over paint from her children's paint-by-numbers kits. Through the years she has tried her hand at sculpture, carving, watercolor, oil and acrylics. She never uses green paint, choosing to mix her own greens.
A member of the Carson Valley Art Association, she was one of the original 13 members of the East Fork Gallery, which was founded in 1979.
Kelly has received many art awards over the years and she was honored with her own one-woman show by Robert Bruce of the Berkeley Gallery in California.
Kelly's work and that of other East Fork Gallery artists may be seen at the gallery, located in The Record-Courier building, 1503 Highway 395, Gardnerville.
The gallery is open daily, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
