A 23-year-old Gardnerville man was charged with first-degree arson stemming from a mobile home fire in Dresslerville.

According to court documents, a witness identified Ruben Aguilar Jr. as the suspect in the fire at 10 p.m. Sunday at 1612 Mountain Way.

Aguilar was being held in Douglas County Jail on $50,187 bail, charged with arson and trespassing.

He is to appear in East Fork Justice Court today.

East Fork Paramedic battalion chief Ron Haskins said Tuesday the blaze was under investigation by the state Fire Marshal's Office.

He said the fire broke out about 10 p.m. in the residence he described as two attached single-wide mobile homes.

The fire was extinguished by midnight, Haskins said. Personnel responded from the East Fork Fire and Paramedic Districts, the Ranchos station and volunteers from Ruhenstroth and the Ranchos.

Haskins said the contents and 1,200-square-foot residence were a total loss.
