As a state senator, I have built a strong record of legislation in the areas of greatest concern to Nevadans: Education, health care, senior and veterans' issues, and fighting crime.
My recent law to crack down on sexual predators, for example, is the toughest in the state's history. And I was a sponsor of the law allowing importation of less expensive medicines from Canada - a huge savings.
I have consistently supported efforts to preserve Nevada's crown jewel, Lake Tahoe. That's why I have been endorsed by Nevada's teachers, firefighters, and many other citizens' groups throughout the state.
Nevada deserves better than to be at the bottom of every good list and the top of every bad one. All Nevadans should have accessible, affordable health care. All children are entitled to a quality education, and all seniors should be able to keep their homes. As governor, I will ensure that our agenda is changed and Nevada has the right priorities.
I am campaigning to be the E-Governor. My five E's are: education, ethics reform, economic development, energy and the environment.
All five of the E's I've identified are crucial if Nevada is to remain vital in the 21st century. We must pay attention to economic development by attracting businesses to Nevada that create good-paying new jobs; tap into Nevada's abundance of wind, sun and geothermal energy to improve the environment and create a new industry in renewable energy; improve education so our next generation can propel our economy forward; and implement ethics reform that will end "pay to play" politics and restore public trust in elected officials.
