Valerie M. Flynt


1931-2006


A memorial service for Valerie M. Flynt, 74, a 10-year Gardnerville resident, was 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ, 3209 Airport Road.


Mrs. Flynt died July 16, 2006, in Carson City.


She was born Aug. 27, 1931, in Bridgeport, Conn., to Harry and Mildred Hemminger.


She married Jay Flynt on Oct. 30, 1951, in Long Beach, Calif.


Before moving to Gardnerville, Mrs. Flynt lived in Palm Springs, Calif.


She was a high school graduate and had attended college.


She was a retired loan officer for a bank.


Mrs. Flynt belonged to the Red Hatters, the Republican Women's Club, an art club and a bridge club.


She enjoyed playing golf, traveling and painting.


Among her survivors are her husband; daughters and sons-in-law Karen and Paul Wilkerson of San Angelo, Texas, Pamela and Duane Petite of Gardnerville and Melissa and Patrick Obrecht of Portola Hills, Calif.; aunt, Mabel Johnson of Stratford, Conn.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.


Cremation will take place at Walton's Sierra Crematory.


Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.




Betty J. Perry Loell


1926-2006


Services will be 2 p.m. Aug. 2, at the Living Word Fellowship in Gardnerville for Betty J. Perry Loell, 79, who died July 10, 2006 in Gardnerville.


Mrs. Loell was born Sept. 23, 1926 in Alturas, Calif. to Kesner and Charlotte Perry. She attended high school in Cedarville, Calif. and graduated in 1944. Before moving to Gardnerville, she was a resident of Sacramento, Calif. She was the manager of Hertz Rent-a-car for 25 years.


She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herbert Loell, her sister Thelma Perry and brother Vern Perry.


She is survived by her daughter Paula J. Blaver of Gardnerville; grandsons Travis Charles Blaver and Ryan Kesner Blaver both of Reno; two brothers Robert Perry of Cedarville, Calif., Don Perry of Cedar Grove, Calif. and several nieces and nephews.


Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Douglas County Mortuary in Minden. Cremation will take place at Walton's Sierra Crematory in Carson City.
