All seven of the art galleries in the Carson Valley are joining together each month throughout the year to bring "Second Saturday-Art" events to the Carson Valley. The first scheduled event will be this Saturday. Each art gallery will be open during their regular business hours and will treat the second Saturday of each month as a special art events day. Second Saturday events are scheduled between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Several galleries will have art demonstrations by gallery and guest artists, special pricing on original artworks, limited edition prints and framing as well as light refreshments.

I've been advised that the Walker Senior Center meal service, both at the center and the home deliveries, will tentatively be closed for the week of June 26 through June 30. It's a very scary scenario as embers from the campfire could easily have blown into the surrounding brush and trees.

The stretch of highway from the Holbrook Junction to Jack Wright Pass, although straight with miles of visibility, has been very dangerous. Motorists travel it too fast, they fail to pay attention to vehicles making turns onto side streets to enter TRE.
