It's hard to be the 'adult'

While vengeance may be the Lord's, the teenagers accused of attacking six churches on June 6, 2006, have found themselves in some pretty hot water here on the temporal plain.

Jonathon Walker, Ronald Bronk, Ryan Schuricht and Kylie Antti were accused in connection with the vandalism. Bronk, Schuricht and Antti are all juveniles and will go through a very different process than Mr. Walker who is 19 and will be dealt with through the adult legal system.

The four of them are accused of writing satanic phrases on side the of Gardnerville's 50-year-old Trinity Lutheran, Carson Valley United Methodist and St. Gall Catholic churches, Day Springs Christian Assembly in the Gardnerville Ranchos, along with Hilltop Community Church and Shepherd of the Sierra Lutheran Church, both in Indian Hills.

Mr. Walker's fate should be a lesson to anyone over the age of 18 who thinks it's cool to hang out with juveniles.

While we don't yet know the outcome of the proceedings against Mr. Walker, one thing's for sure, if convicted, he will face the brunt of the public and legal wrath because he was the "adult" in the group.
