Spend "An Evening With An Artist," 4-7 p.m. June 22 at the East Fork Gallery in Gardnerville.
Jan Rollenhagen, who has been awarded signature privileges by the Pastel Society of the West Coast and has been in many national and international art exhibitions, will present a demonstration on pastels starting at 5 p.m. Enjoy an evening of light refreshments surrounded by the many art works of Carson Valley artists. Rollenhagen will demonstrate how she produces her work and answer any questions on the art of pastel.
In an effort to promote the Carson Valley artists who live here, and the Valley as an art destination, East Fork Gallery will be presenting a series of events on the third Thursday of every month called An Evening With An Artist. Each month a new artist will be demonstrating how they produce their work in their chosen mediums and subjects. They will be there to explain their techniques and answer any questions guest might have.
Minden resident, Rollenhagen, has spent a career as an artist, designer, teacher and demonstrator. She uses pastel to show her love of color and form, earning her many awards in national and international juried competitions. Her highly detailed "Carousel Horse" images, done in brilliant color and whimsical style, have awarded her signature privileges by the Pastel Society of the West Coast.
For the past two years, Rollenhagen has concentrated on a series of solo shows throughout Northern California and Nevada. This year she will be participating at the American Carousel Society Convention in Reading, Penn.
