Rebecca Nadon's own three children were the influence for the Cyber Circus computer entertainment center in Carson Valley.
"I spent a small fortune sending them to play computer games," she said. "It was their favorite thing to do.
"Cyber Circus is more parent-friendly. It was the idea that if they're going to play games, this will put it into a social activity or setting."
Cyber Circus computer technology entertainment center has 24 stations of PC computers with G-Force graphics cards and three lap-top hook-ups. There's more space to expand another group of Xboxes and PlayStations and plans to add foosball tables in the future.
Featured games are Counterstrike, Battlefield 2, Quake 4, Warcraft III and World of Warcraft, Half-Life, Civilization 4, Call of Duty 2 and Unreal Tournament.
"We've made computer gaming a social environment instead of being closed up in bedrooms," said Rebecca Nadon.
"It's a constructive social environment - no smoking, drinking or cussing," said Tom Nadon.
"Most everything is blocked already but if an employee sees porn on a screen, they can shut off right away," said Rebecca Nadon.
Owners Tom and Rebecca Nadon cater to young people with a snack bar with hot dogs, nachos, barbecue sandwiches, smoothies, coffee and soft drinks.
The players may enjoy their snacks while they're playing and don't have to leave their computers.
People can set up private party lock-ins (locked to public) to play tournaments and games. They play music and give out prizes all night long at the supervised parties.
Rebecca Nadon said she would like Cyber Circus to be a hangout for young people.
"On the last week of school students came in with their study groups," she said. "We want them here. It's a place to provide good, clean fun."
And Cyber Circus isn't only for the young crowd - the Nadons hope to start computer instruction for seniors in the fall.
"In the future, we would like to provide e-mail accounts to seniors," said Tom Nadon. "That way they don't have to get their own computers to communicate with their grandkids."
