'Round about 8 p.m. Tuesday work will begin on the intersection of County Road and Highway 88 in Minden.

The Nevada Department of Transportation marked up the intersection last week and plans to take Highway 88 down to one lane while working on a roundabout.

The $923,000 contract was awarded to Granite Construction to build the roundabout at County Road and Highway 88 .

The bid includes $100,000 to modify the curb radius in the southbound lane at Highway 395 and 88, according to Scott Magruder, spokesman for the Nevada Department of Transportation.

Construction should take about 45 working days. Officials expect the project to be completed in August before school starts.

Work will be nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

There will be a single lane of traffic controlled by flaggers, Tuesday night through Friday morning this week.
