- Graffiti suspect Jonathon Walker is to ask East Fork Justice Jim EnEarl if he can be released from Douglas County Jail on his own recognizance or with a bail reduction. Walker is jailed on $50,000 since his arrest June 7 along with three juveniles charged with spray painting six Carson Valley churches. Page A3

- Douglas County deputies stopped a motorist on Highway 395 on Sunday who was driving too slowly and discovered 60 grams of cocaine in his vehicle. Page A3

- Residents may have noticed an abundance of PT Cruiser-shaped automobiles, Chrysler and DeSoto Airflows made in the 1930s, in the area last week. The Airflow Club of America held its national meet in Carson Valley for the first time, attracting members from as far away as New Zealand. Page B1

- The Minden Rotary Club donated $10,000 to sponsor the kitchen in the Carson Valley Children's Center, Austin's House. The donated money will sponsor the kitchen for the next five years. Page B1

- The 23rd annual Pops in the Park will take place starting at 1 p.m. July 4 at the Orchard House in Genoa. The Pops event features music by Garden Valley Violin School at 1 p.m., by the Sierra Philharmonic League at 5 p.m., with sales of T-shirts and other souvenirs. Page B1

- Douglas High baseball standout D.J. Brady has decided to play for Mesa Community College next season. Mesa was the No. 1-ranked team in the NJCAA Division II through the final month of the season. Page C1
