All seven of the art galleries in the Carson Valley are joining together each month throughout the year to bring "Second Saturday-Art" events to the Carson Valley. The first scheduled event will be this Saturday. Each art gallery will be open during their regular business hours and will treat the second Saturday of each month as a special art events day. Second Saturday events are scheduled between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Several galleries will have art demonstrations by gallery and guest artists, special pricing on original artworks, limited edition prints and framing as well as light refreshments.
In the future, the gallery group plans to publish a gallery guide outlining the artists and artworks offered at each gallery and to create a Web site featuring local art events. The group plans to sponsor a few art events outside of "Second Saturday-Art" throughout the year. Please call for special events planned for July or just stop by and enjoy the artworks on exhibit in each gallery. Art galleries participating the first "Second Saturday-Art" on Saturday are:
