Donna Lou Spear
1928-2006
There will be a chapel service 11 a.m. July 7 at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, Calif. for Donna Lou Spear, 78, who died at her Gardnerville home June 28, 2006 surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Spear was born Nov. 13, 1928 in Moscow, Idaho. She lived in Newark, Calif. for 50 years raising her family. She worked for many years at the Hunt's Cannery in Hayward, Calif. and for Ford Philco/Lockheed in Mountain View, Calif., for several years as an electronic assembler, finally retiring in 1998. She loved to paint, she loved clowns and entertaining.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, James R. Spear. She is survived by sons Gary Spear of Nevada, Jack Spear of Henderson, Mel Spear of Calif., James Spear of Bakersfield, Calif., daughters Linda Anderson of Rio Rancho, N.M. and Alice Dirksen of Modesto, Calif. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and her life-long best friend Dolores Rasmussen of Gardnerville.
Burial will be at Lone Tree Cemetery, Hayward, Calif.
