It will be a busy weekend in Minden starting tonight with the latest summer concert at 6:30 p.m. featuring the band Mumbo Gumbo. The band is smoking, so anticipate getting down there early to find a spot.

The Sierra-Tahoe complex of fires cost $1.8 million to fight and was burning 11,567 acres at its peak.

The Linehan fire ended up being 5,883 acres. Fire Information Officer Karla Norris said the fire located north and east of Carson City is surrounded and firefighters are conducting mop up operations. East Fork Fire & Paramedic Districts sent an engine to aid in the fight.

There is still a slight chance of rain today but there is a better chance it will be breezy. The National Weather Service is predicting a west wind at 16 mph gusting to 28 mph through the entire weekend. Things are supposed calm down by Sunday night.

High temperatures will run in the low 90s through July 4.
