Bethel Avery
1934-2006.
Bethel Avery, 72, of Orlando, Fla., passed away on Wednesday March 1, 2006.
Mrs. Bethel was born Jan. 17, 1934, in Armada, Mich., to Lester and Ethel Bell. Beth and her husband Carl owned and operated the Double H Ranch in Brevort, Mich. for 15 years. Beth and Carl Avery then lived and worked in the Minden-Tahoe area of Nevada.
She is survived by her husband Carl Avery of 51 years; her daughters and sons-in-law Kyle and James Everson of St. Igance, Mich., Kregg and Howard Herz of Minden and Kerry and Charles Kalbfleisch of Traverse City, Michigan. She is also survived by a brother Arnold Bell of Washington, Mich. She has seven grandchildren: Nathan, Evan, Marce, Gabriel, Alicia, Jessica and Grace.
A memorial service was held at Family Funeral Care of Orlando, Fla on March 7, 2006. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Florida Division, 3709 W. Jetton Ave., Tampa, Fla., 33629.
David John "Boo" Liska Jr.
1968-2006
David John "Boo" Liska, Jr., 37, died Feb. 25, 2006, in Nashville, Tenn.
Mr. Liska was born Dec. 4, 1968 in Hartford, Conn., to David John Liska, Sr., and Sandra Liska Whiteside. He was a graduate of McGavock High School, in Nashville, Tenn. He was married to Angela Harmon and had three children. "Boo" was a mechanic and had a passion for Nascar racing, serving as a pit crew for racers, Bubba White and Randal Ritter, as well as driving a pace car at Nashville Super Speedway. His greatest passion was his children and his family. He could be counted upon to help in need.
Mr. Liska is survived by his wife Angela Harmon Liska, Nashville, Tenn.; his mother Sandra Whiteside of Antioch, Tenn.; his father David John Liska and stepmother Dien of Gardnerville; children: Nicholas, Monica and Christina Liska, of Nashville Tenn.; sister Darlene Binkley, of Mt. Juliet, Tenn; niece Jolene Binkley, Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; uncle and aunt Rich and Marcia Liska, of Gardnerville; aunt, Gloria Sikorski, East Haddam, Conn. Cousins Sue Ballestrinil, Waterford, Conn.. Gary Sikorski, East Haddalm Conn, Robin Curran, Palm Springs, Calif, Scott Liska East Haddam Conn., Glenn Sikorski of Cadott, Wis., Lori Sikorski of Brooklyn, N.Y. Friends, Claudette and Tom Springmeyer of Gardnerville, attended the memorial which took place in Nashville.

Wendy Jo Whitford
1957-2006
A memorial service is1 p.m. Saturday at the Carson Valley Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville, for Wendy Jo Whitford, 49, who died Feb. 16, 2006, at her home in Reno.
Miss Whitford was born Feb.10, 1957, in Bridgeport Calif., to Roscoe E. Whitford and Donna June Bergevin Steele. She called Nevada her home since infancy.
She was a member of Eastern Star. She cherished her cats, Gracie and Henri. Illness kept her from working for the past few years, leaving Washoe Medical Center, where she was employed for over 20 years as a CNA Dialysis Technician. She loved being an aunt to her neices and nephews, Nathan, Megan, and Emily of Calif., and Martin, Megan, Jasmine and David who live in Scotland.
She was preceded in death by her mother Donna June Bergevin Steele; her birth father, Roscoe E Whitford, grandfather Theodore Bergevin, uncles Phillip and Teddy Bergevin and cousin Paul Curtis.
Miss Whitford is survived by her grandmother, Lenore Bergevin of Gardnerville, stepfather Archie Steele, of Dunkeld, Scotland, brother "Rocky" Whitford of Calif., sister Stephanie Mikkelson of Auburn, Calif. and sisters Linda and husband Mike Winton, Helen Hill, and brother Athol Steele who live in Scotland.
She is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Linda and Michael Curtis and Marcia and David Bernard of Carson City, along with many cousins, extended family members and numerous friends.
Cremation took place at John Sparks Crematorium in Sparks.
