Close To My Heart, local independent consultants, are hosting a community scrapbooking event designed to raise awareness and funds for the Operation Kids network of children's charities. The event will be 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. April 1 at Carson Valley United Methodist Church.
This event will allow people to contribute to Operation Kids while discovering the arts of scrapbooking, card making and preserving their memories. Attendees will learn valuable scrapbooking techniques, enjoy hours of fun and help advance a worthy cause all at the same time. For those attending this event, they will have their choice of spending their day cropping or taking a day of class as well as time to work on their own crafting projects.
Pre-registration is required. The cost of the all-day crop is $30 and the cost for the crop and day of classes is $65. Crop attendees may also choose to take an a' la carte classes at $10 each.
In addition to the registration fee, attendees will have the opportunity to further contribute to Operation Kids through a silent auction and donation jar. Lunch, dinner, snacks and ice cream bar will be served.
Operation Kids is a charitable organization that channels funds to a number of deserving children's charities such as Operation Smile, the National McGruff House Network and the Children's Organ Transplant Association. Their operating costs are covered by an endowment, ensuring that 100 percent of collected donations go directly to improving the lives of children.
