After 80 years of night meetings, the Minden Rotary Club is moving its weekly meeting to noon.
"We feel it will be more convenient for our members and make is easier to attract new members," said club president Woodie Ross.
The Minden club has been involved in many community projects over the years, including the building of the gazebo in Minden Park, as well as the flagpole at Heritage Park. They also sponsor Most Improved Student Awards for middle school students, a music and a speech contest for local students and funds a Western Nevada Community College scholarship.
Rotary International has been credited with the eradication of polio and is involved in many world-wide projects, including providing wheelchairs for the underprivileged and building water treatment plants in third-world countries.
For more information, attend a Tuesday noon meeting, which includes lunch at Carson Valley Inn, or call 782-1539 or visit the Web site www.rotary-district5190.org/MINDEN/
