The Douglas County Senior Center will host its Sixth Annual Big Mama's Show & Shine Car Show at the Lampe Park Pavilion in Gardnerville on May 13. Check-in time is 8-10 a.m. and the Show & Shine lasts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the awards presentation at 3 p.m. Music will be provided by "Time Warp."
The day includes food, vendors, and lots of classic vehicles, plus an all day raffle featuring prizes from many area businesses.
The class range is from pre-1948 to 1979 stock or modified cars and pre-1965 to 1979 stock or modified trucks. There are also classes in "sports cars," "special interests," "street rods" and "under constructions" (no tow-ins).
If interested in registering vehicles, stop by the Douglas County Senior Center at 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville, or call the office at 783-6455 and have a registration form mailed to you.
The registration fee is $45 if post marked by May 5, or $50 if post marked after May 5. Day of the show registration will be accepted.
This year's event includes a swap meet of old and used car and truck parts only. A 10-foot by 10-foot booth space costs $25. Registration forms are available at the senior center or can be mailed.
Craft and vendor 10-foot by 10-foot booth spaces are also available for $30. Registration forms are also available at the senior center or can be mailed.
