Damonte Ranch pitcher Matt Gardner hurt the Douglas baseball team from both the mound and the plate Thursday afternoon at Tiger Field in Minden.
Gardner struck out four to pick up the win and went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBIs as the Mustangs picked up the 7-5 victory over Douglas in Sierra League action.
Douglas' Chris Kinsley, making his first appearance of the season, struck out an impressive eight batters in relief, shutting the Mustangs out over the final three innings.
Ryan Laing went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBIs to lead the Tigers and Roman Davis, also making his first appearance of the season, went 2-for-3.
Douglas dropped to 1-3 in league play and 2-7 overall.
