EDITOR:
The Family Support Council's Fourth Annual Puttin' on the Ritz fundraiser held March 18 at Genoa Lakes Golf Club was a huge success.
The room looked beautiful in red, white and black with floral arrangements provided by Just Roses. The 200-plus community members who attended should be very proud of making this a sold-out event, raising $40,000 for continued programs and services, provided free of charge to Douglas County families by the Family Support Council. Awards were given for outstanding service in 2005 to GE Energy for their business support and to John Amundson for his individual support of FSC programs. Bill McClain did a fantastic job as our Master of Ceremonies for the evening's activities including live and silent action and dancing at the end of the evening. A one-third of a carat diamond donated by Joyce's Jewelry was won by Robert Humphrey.
The evening's sponsors included Carson Tahoe Minden Medical, Charter Communications, GE Energy, Syncon Homes, Harley Davidson Financial Services, The Record-Courier, Slotworld, Bing Materials, Country Insurance, Greater NV Credit Union, Nevada State Bank, Anderson Engineering, Re-Max Realty and Stewart Title. Many local businesses donated items for both the live and silent auction: 207 Café, 88 Cups, A Wildflower, Accolades Trophies, Ace Hardware, Advanced Cosmetic Surgery, Ala Carte nails, Angie Smith, Angler's Edge, Antiques Plus, Antoci's at Genoa Lakes, Arlouise White, Baby Willow's, Barney's Fly Fishing Ranch, Basket Case, Bella Vita, Bent Rod Fly Fishing, Body Language, Body Shop at Home, Brad Hollander, Brenda Lawrence, C.
