The Nevada Caregiver Support Center and the Douglas County Senior Center will be conducting two workshops for family caregivers of persons with dementia titled "Coping with Stress and Communication Skills Workshops for Caregivers."
n On Thursday, April 6, strategies for managing the stress associated with care giving will be discussed, followed by one-on-one coaching.
n On Thursday, April 20, skills for successful communication with persons with memory challenges will be discussed, again followed by one-on-one coaching.
Each workshop will be conducted 2-4 p.m. at the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane in Gardnerville. Workshops are designed for professional and family caregivers of persons with Alzheimer's disease or related memory challenges. Snacks will be provided.
Funding is provided by the State of Nevada Division for Aging Services. Workshops are offered at no charge to family caregivers and $10 to professional caregivers.
