John T. Beaver

1937-2006

A celebration of life is 1 p.m. May 6 at 1362 Lupo Lane, Gardnerville for John T. Beaver, 68, who died in Gardnerville March 28, 2006.

Mr. Beaver was born Oct. 29, 1937, in Long Beach, Calif., to Widmer and Jennie Beaver. He graduated from 29 Palms High School and joined the U.S. Navy. He met his wife Virginia "Ginger" Beaver while stationed in Long Beach, Calif. After his honorable discharge he married Ginger July 10, 1960, in Downey, Calif. Moving from California to Gardnerville 14 years ago, he was an independent truck driver, a member of the Valley Cruisers Car Club, The Obsolete Iron Car Club, Rod Fathers of California, Men's Senior Bowling at Piñon Plaza and Carson Lanes in Carson City. He loved drag racing and go-kart racing. He raced sprints and Enduros, a champion in his class. While working for Stainless Steel Products in Burbank, Calif. he welded the fuel lines and air ducts for Apollo 11,12 and 13. He was honored by NASA with his name being placed on micro-film and inserted into the flag pole that was left by Apollo 11 crew member Neil Armstrong first walk on the moon. He owned a bicycle shop in Tarzana, Calif., "Beaver's Bicycles." He was the innovator and designer of motor-cross bicycles and custom skate boards and sponsored many teams. He restored and built Hot Rods winning many awards with his cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Virginia Beaver of Gardnerville; his daughter Joann T. Beaver and her husband Tom Evans of Burbank, Calif.; granddaughter Cynthia Beaver and great-granddaughter Raelinn Arnold of Burbank, Calif.; step-grandson Lance Evans and step-great-granddaughter Ciera Evans of Las Vegas; stepgranddaughter Debra Evan and her son Sevan of Palm Springs; godchild Ashley Moreno from Galt, Calif.; sister-in-law and her husband Marci and Phil Romero; brother-in-law and his wife Bill and Carmen Inez and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville with cremation to take place at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City. Joseph A. "Big Jerry" Jaramillo

1920-2006

A memorial service for Joseph A. "Big Jerry" Jaramillo, 86, a Yerington resident since 1973, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home at 25 Highway 208 in Yerington.

Mr. Jaramillo died May 1, 2006, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. He was born March 6, 1920, in Colorado.

He served more than 32 years as a master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, in July 1989.

Among his survivors are his son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Diane Jaramillo of Carson City; sons Johnny and LeRoy Jaramillo of California; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in Yerington is in charge of arrangements.
