Home burning in Topaz Ranch Estates

Firefighters responded to a mobile home on fire at 3630 Sandstone Drive in Topaz Ranch Estates 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The 1,248-square-foot home was burning when Topaz Ranch Estates volunteers arrived on scene.

Firefighters estimated 50 percent of the structure was ablaze, with flames coming out of the roof and windows. Firefighters worked to keep the fire from spreading to brush and other homes in the neighborhood.

The home was unoccupied when firefighters arrived.

According to the Douglas County Assessor, the home was built in 1974 and belongs to Chris and Aretta Koch.
