The East Fork Gallery was host for the Carson Valley Art Association's annual Mini Show. This was a juried show for association members. Artist Mark Tompkins, show judge, presented ribbon awards at a reception that took place Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. at the Gardnerville gallery.
Fifty-six entries with a required size of 5- by 7-inches or smaller were submitted to the delight of the public.
The works were created in watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel/colored pencil, graphics including original printmaking and mixed-media collage. Photography was not accepted for this show.
This year's winners are: Best of show to Lynn Kelly for her acrylic painting titled "Wild About Wild Flowers," first place was a watercolor, "Valley Girls" by Lee Netzel, second place was a pastel by Linda Townsend titled "Good Old Times" and a third place award went to CVAA President Beth Bosmans, with a mixed-media piece she called "Coyote Brave." Honorable mentions were awarded to Nancy Kilburg, oil, "Sunset Bliss," Rick Rose, acrylic, "Ranch Hand," Carolyn Denning with her watercolor, "Caples Lake Rocks," Nancy Clarke, oil, "Carson Valley View," Marge Buttles, watercolor, "Cocky Cactus" and a watercolor by Anne Armijo with her "Dancing Fleur de Lis."
