Oct. 30 at the New Oasis in Reno Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto, Suburban Legends, and Westbound Train performed for many enthusiatic Northern Nevadans.

The lights dimmed, the band came out and the crowd screamed. The music started and so did the jumping. A large group was smashed against the stage and a second group began dancing in the back. Some stood by and simply enjoyed the music that was being played. Everyone was there to listen to the ska/rock/reggae bands that were performing, and everyone was enjoying the sounds.

Reel Big Fish band members, Aaron Barrett, Ryland Steen, Dan Regan, Scott Klopfenstein, John Christianson, and Matt Wong, played the show as if it were a jam session, and looked as if it were exactly how a practice might go. They joked on stage and kept audience participation going throughout the show.

The New Oasis brought many from Douglas County, as well as Reno, residents together for this special event.

"I thought they were amazing," said Joey Sellers, Douglas High School senior, who attended the concert. "I really liked the trumpets."

The show began at 7:30 p.m. and ended close to midnight.

"I had a great time," said Kenny Fisk, aquatic specialist at the Carson Valley Swim Center, who also attended the show. "I'm glad I went, and I'm hoping to go to more shows soon."
