An 18-year-old former Douglas High School student was sentenced to probation Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to making threats to shoot a group of classmates praying at the campus flagpole,

Daniel Ferguson, jailed since his arrest Sept. 29, was expected to be released today after a judge reviewed a psychological examination that said the suspect was not a threat to the community.

No one was hurt in the incident and Ferguson, a DHS junior, was expelled.

As part of his probation, acting Judge Richard Glasson ordered Ferguson to undergo counseling and stay away from 10 students who were in the prayer group.
