God knows ...

Greetings, Carson Valley. Well the elections are mostly behind us. The Congress and the Senate are now controlled by the Democrats.

What I always find interesting is that for about two or three weeks before the actual elections, the talking heads are already predicting the outcome. Sometimes they call it pretty close, and then other times they're way off. There are probably certain formulas that they go by, but all would agree that nothing about it is absolute. Right? I mean who would bet their life on theories, conjecture, or opinions? No one. In fact, some may say that even when the race is finally over, there is no real guarantee that the votes were counted correctly either.

On a similar thought, I was watching a show on TV the other day. It covered world catastrophes and the potential cataclysmic events that could end life as we know it. The show told of killer meteorites from the sky that could hit us and of deadly viruses that could cause a pandemic, killing every living thing. I was like ... "Whoa!" "That's scary stuff."

In both cases there are no guarantees, are there? Who knows the future of an election, or the path of a meteor that may pass or hit us? No one... almost.

The Bible speaks of God knowing all things. That means that God knows every microscopic piece of information past, present and even the future. There is nothing that God does not know. God knows the details of how many raindrops fell today, as well as the first thoughts that went through your brain when you first woke up this morning. There is nothing that's too insignificant for His interest or too great for His provision. God knows every circumstance you will ever face to the very smallest detail and how you will feel and think as you respond to those events. There is nothing that God does not already know. "OK, now what?"

The "now what" is ... when you put your faith in God, several opportunities open up to you. You can put your faith in God's provision for your sin problem, by trusting in Jesus Christ and the gift of eternal life that He offers you. Secondly, because you know that God loves you with His infinite love, you can feel secure in facing any event that comes into your path. God knows your personal past, present and future and has guaranteed your best outcome when you trust in Him. You can trust Him with who ends up in Washington this election, and you can also trust Him with the path of the meteors that pass us by. You can trust God with everything, including your own future.
