Douglas County Republicans are meeting today to discuss the results of Tuesday's election. Unlike their brethren in other parts of the county, the Douglas County party stayed the course, defeating challenges from Democrats on two fronts and generally supporting Republican candidates in statewide elections. The central committee meets 7 p.m. in the Law Enforcement and Judicial Center in Minden.
Gardnerville and Scarselli elementary schools are honoring veterans today with assemblies. The schools are closed Friday. Mail will be delivered and the Post Offices open on Friday, but not on Saturday. The offices of The Record-Courier will remain open.
