Alamo, the school that has prevented the Coleville Lady Wolves from claiming the state 1A volleyball championship the last two years, prevented the Wolves from advancing to the championship round on Friday.

Alamo picked up a 25-10, 25-14, 21-25, 25-17 win.

Coleville took the third game of the four-game match, something it wasn't able to do in the last matchup against Alamo.

The Wolves were without libero Ashley Boyd, who had to move before the tournament.

Coleville also went from a one-setter lineup to a two-setter, with the setters playing from the front row, instead of the traditional back-row setting.

The Wolves also went with a single blocker, which allowed them to pick up the dinks that they couldn't get to against Owyhee at regionals last week.

Coleville started to settle in to the new rotation in the third and played a solid game in the fourth, but simply ran out of time.

Western Division 1A player of the year, Kymberlee Curti, had 11 kills, two aces, two blocks and one dig.

Kayla Johnson had nine kills and two blocks. Amara Rowley had 10 assists, two kills, one ace, one block and one dig.

Tawny Booher had 14 assists and two digs. Kim Torley had two kills and one dig and Skyler Isbell had one block.

Coleville finished its season 14-0 in league play and 21-8 overall.
