A 22-year-old house keeper was at work when her former beau and a friend allegedly attacked and killed her at the Horizon Hotel Resort in Stateline on Sunday afternoon.

Jazmin Gonzalez-Morgado was found dead by another employee inside an eighth-floor room of the hotel, the Tahoe Daily Tribune reported today. According to authorities, she had been beaten and stabbed.

Gonzalez-Morgado had a protective order against the father of her son, Ramiro Valasquez Galicia, 35. Authorities believe she was slain by Valasquez Galicia, aided by Evan Garcia, a guest at the hotel who is being held on charges of accessory to murder and conspiracy. Valasquez Galicia turned himself into authorities in South Lake Tahoe and faces extradition back to Nevada in the case.

A wind advisory has been issued for Carson Valley and is expected to last until 10 p.m. today as the jet stream drops in over western Nevada, driving wind gusts up to 55 mph.

The cold front associated with this storm is pushing warm air out in front of it. The temperatures before sunrise this morning is 55 degrees with winds blowing 18 mph. The National Weather Service reports a gust of up to 43 mph.

There's a high wind advisory on Highway 395 through Washoe Valley. High profile vehicles are advised to avoid that area.
