Mary Beres

A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville for Mary Beres, 55, who died Nov. 18, 2006, at her home in Gardnerville.
Mrs. Beres was born Dec. 16, 1950, in Winslow, Ariz., to Albin Guy and Mary Louise Freeby. She was a graduate of Van Nuys Cosmetology School and she married James "Jim" R. Beres, Sr. 1970 in Lake Tahoe. She moved to Gardnerville 33 years ago from Northridge, Calif. Mrs. Beres was a beautician and a homemaker and owned Mary's Hair Conspiracy on Highway 395 for 22 years. She worked for "Ma" Bell Telephone in Southern California while she attended cosmetology school and drove school bus in Douglas County before opening her beauty shop in Gardnerville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Norma Jean Kenny and Barbara Sue Coker. She is survived by her husband James R. Beres, Sr. of Gardnerville, daughters Jayne Lealtad and her husband Mark of Sparks, Jennifer Gaid and her husband Phil of Oregon; son James R Beres Jr. and wife Dana Rosingus of Gardnerville; brother James and wife Mary Ann Freeby as well as five grandchildren Jacob, Kirstin, Katie, Jillian and Allison.
Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville. Family and friends are invited to the Beres household after services at 921 Fairview Lane, Gardnerville. The family requests any flowers be sent to the funeral home and condolences to the family.
