For the four Sundays prior to Thanksgiving the congregation of the Carson Valley United Methodist Church held its annual Fall Food Round-up. A "corral" is set up in the church's entryway, and everyone is encouraged to bring items to fill it for the Carson Valley Community Food Closet. This has been an annual project for the past five years, and this year's response was very high. The church collected 1,527 pounds of food and paper goods which were donated to help refill the shelves at the food closet following Thanksgiving. Director of Family Ministries Cindy McIntosh expressed her appreciation to all who helped with this worthwhile project.
