Antique store hosts open house

Orchard Antiques will host a holiday open house events Friday and Saturday at 1459 Highway 395 in Gardnerville.

The antique store's Hearth & Home show begins with an invitational champagne preview on Friday. Invitations to the event are available at the shop.

Saturday's open house is from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

There will be many Christmas items on display along with Orchard Antiques' collection of furniture, books, holiday decor, jewelry, western collectibles, fine glassware, Victorian boxes, vintage linens and kitchen kitsch.

Also included at Orchard Antiques is a collection of antique firefighter memorabilia.

Owner Jen Haase is a native Nevadan who moved to Gardnerville seven years ago and was previously with Dublin House Antiques in Gardnerville.

The Hearth & Home show runs through Dec. 24 with an after Christmas sale beginning Dec. 30.

Orchard Antiques is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Extended holiday hours begin Sunday.
