The Soul(e) Ferret Rescue Shelter is hosting its second annual open house 1-4 p.m. Dec. 9. Festivities will take place at 977 Pleasantview Court in Gardnerville.
Soul(e) Ferret Rescue Shelter is committed to providing a safe and loving environment to ferrets that have been abused, neglected or abandoned. It is a no-kill shelter run entirely through the efforts and dedication of Linda Soule.
Anyone who has a ferret, wants a ferret, or is interested in seeing the shelter is invited to the open house. Story sharing, wonderful food and a fundraising raffle are all part of the fun. Prizes for the raffle include dinner certificates, ferret furniture, pet baskets filled with goodies for furry friends and various items from gift stores around town.
The shelter is in need of contributions such as Tide HE laundry detergent, regular bleach, paper towels, N Bones and Ferretone. Of course, volunteers and monetary contributions are always welcomed and appreciated.
In addition, donations to go toward veterinary care for the ferrets may be made throughout the year at Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital, 1390 Highway 88 in Minden.
For more information about the shelter or the open house, call Linda Soule at 265-6744.
