Alpine artists present open studios tour this weekend

The aspen leaves are at the height of their glory, and 18 artists in the Markleeville area will be opening their studios from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. this weekend, both Saturday and Sunday, to interested viewers of nature and art. This fourth annual Markleeville Artists Autumn Open Studios is called "Changing of the Leaves."

At Villa Gigli, Ruggero Gigli will be serving foccacia and wine as his wife Gina explains her art.

Stop by the Alpine County Visitor Center, the first building on the south end of town, to register and pick up a free map to the artists' studios.
