A 24-year-old Minden man was arrested Monday charged with drunk driving for the third time in seven years.

A deputy allegedly observed Justin Reid speeding and ignoring three stop signs as he drove from Waterloo Lane to Tillman in the Gardnerville Ranchos at 4 a.m.

A preliminary test indicated a blood-alcohol content of .163, more than twice the legal limit of .08 for driving in Nevada.

He was jailed on charges of driving under the influence, three counts of failure to stop at a stop sign, speeding and driving without a valid license.

A check of Reid's record revealed DUI convictions from December 2001 and January 2005.

n Deputies were called to Tamarack Drive on Tuesday for a report of a woman going door-to-door asking for pain medication.

The complainants said she wanted medicine for a toothache.

When deputies interviewed the woman she said she didn't have insurance and needed medication.

A deputy told her that anyone who gave her medication who wasn't a doctor would be committing a felony.

n Several instances of graffiti were reported Oct. 4 at Stodick Park in Gardnerville.

Someone sprayed gold paint at the parking area, a trash enclosure, the main building and damaged sponsor signs lining the playing field.

Several of the examples read "SK8 or Die" and "IP" or "Irish Pride" and obscenities.
