It took a little while for the Douglas volleyball team to get rolling Tuesday night, but once it did it was next to unstoppable.
The Tigers picked up a four-game victory against Wooster after falling back 20-12 at one point in the opener. They rebounded from a 25-19 loss in that game to take the next three 25-11, 25-13, 25-18 to improve to 15-8 overall on the year and 5-2 in Sierra League play.
Douglas jumped out to a 4-1 lead early on, but fell victim to a slew of errors, faults on its part and plain old hustle on Wooster's part. The Tigers staged a comeback late in the game with a 7-1 run, but the Colts pushed ahead for the win.
The Tigers took a couple minutes to regroup between games and took over from there.
Bridget Maestretti served seven consecutive points to open the second, getting four of her match-high seven aces as Douglas jumped out to an 8-0 lead.
Danielle Brown followed with four aces later on in the game to spark the Tigers as they breezed through the next three games.
Jennifer Stice led the way at the net for the Tigers with nine kills while Alex Risko, Taryn Williams and Jessica Waggoner each had eight.
Megan Myers added five, Brown had four, Maestretti had four and Kaylee Hall had two to round out the Tigers' attack. Megan Mitchell recorded 36 assists.
Waggoner had four blocks and Brown, Williams, Mitchell and Maestretti each had two.
Myers also had four aces and Mitchell, Risko and Stice each had two.
Mary Lombino led the team in digs with 25 and Bonnie Matheson added three.
