Greater Nevada Credit Union has announced a major remodel of its Minden branch, located at 1545 Highway 395, during 2007. During the remodel, Greater Nevada will establish a temporary branch a few blocks south of the current branch inside the Stratton Center where the pharmacy was once located.

"In the past two years, Greater Nevada has built new branches in Carson City, Reno, Dayton, Wendover and Spanish Springs," said Joyce Whitney-Silva, Greater Nevada's chief financial officer. "Now it's time to give Minden a new branch that our members and the community can be proud of."

Although there are no firm dates or plans, Whitney-Silva is anticipating that Greater Nevada will move into its temporary location by spring 2007 and the new branch will be finished by the end of 2007.

Minden branch manager, Linda Bratton, said that though the temporary branch will not have drive-through lanes and there is limited parking, the credit union will extend its operating hours and install a walk-up ATM to minimize any inconvenience to its members.

Greater Nevada is a not-for-profit financial cooperative that has been serving Nevada consumers since 1949. The credit union has more than 50,000 members, $490 million in assets, 11 branches and a nationwide network of ATMs.
