The park will re-open in May. The park has a group use facility that can be used for outdoor weddings, receptions, family reunions, retirement parties, birthday celebrations and other group gatherings.
Reservations will be accepted beginning Jan. 2, 2007. The cost varies depending on the number of people. For information, contact park supervisor Suzanne Sturtevant at 782-2590.
Mormon Station State Historic Park is the site of Nevada's first permanent non-native settlement. Mormon Station is located in Genoa, 12 miles south of Carson City.
The park features a replica of the original trading post built in 1851, which houses a small museum with relics of pioneer days, as well as picnic and group facilities.
Mormon Station is open May through October.
This weekend will also be the last that the Genoa Court House Museum will be open regularly. The museum will reopen for special events.
