Lorraine (Lonnie)

M. Mirto

1928-2006

A memorial service is 11 a.m. Oct. 23 at St. Gall Catholic Church for Lorraine (Lonnie) M. Mirto, 78, a former Gardnerville resident.

Mrs. Mirto died Sept. 23, 2006, at her home in Kingman, Ariz., with her family in attendance, after a battle with cancer.

Born in Philadelphia, Pa., on Nov. 28, 1928, she moved to California as a young woman and raised her family in Mountain View, Calif., and then in South Lake Tahoe from 1967 to 1977. She spent 22 years in Gardnerville before moving to La Quinta, Calif., and then Kingman. Mrs. Mirto was warm, caring, fun loving and devoted to her family and friends. In Mountain View she met and married Sam Mirto. She was an artist and shared her watercolors, oil paintings and painted woodcraft decorations for every holiday with her family and friends. Mrs. Mirto is survived by her husband of 40 years, Sam Mirto; daughters Debbie Colombo and husband Tony, and Vickie Arnerich; sons Larry Robinson and wife Toya Renee, Tom Robinson and wife Debbie, John Mirto and wife Stefana; brother John Raabe and wife JoBeth; grandchildren, John and Jennifer Colombo, Krystal and Josh Mirto, Katie Arnerich and many nieces, nephews and extended family and close friends.

Inurnment at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden will follow the service. The family requests memorial contributions are sent to Kingman Regional Medical Center Hospice or KMRC Foundation, 3269 Stockton Hill Rd, Kingman, AZ 86409.

James H. Lidster

1936-2006

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 891 Mahogany Dr. Minden for James H. Lidster, 70, who died Oct. 8, 2006 at the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center in Carson City.

Mr. Lidster was born July 29, 1936 in Sacramento, Calif., to Howard and Mabel (Hansen) Lidster. He married Phyllus Lidster in Sacramento Aug. 8, 1988 and lived in Eureka, Mont., prior to moving to Minden five years ago. He was the owner of a construction company and a civil engineer.

He was preceded in death by his son, John Lidster of Sacramento. He is survived by his wife Phyllus Lidster of Minden; sons William Lidster of Sacramento, Robert Lidster of Hooksett, N.H.; daughters Heather Emmons and Denise Krasnosky both of Sacramento, daughter Ann Gudmann of Elk Grove, Calif.; sisters Judy Van Winkel and Barbie Heglie as well as nieces and nephews Ross Carroll, Lori Zimmerman, Shelly Gerkin, Kristin Heglie, Eric Heglie, Matthew Heglie and 11 grandchildren.

Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville. Cremation will take place at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City.

Tamara Lee Sugden

1945-2006

A funeral service will be 10 a.m., Saturday at FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville for Tamara Lee Sugden, 61, who died in Gardnerville Oct. 8, 2006.

Mrs. Sugden was born May 31, 1945 in Fullerton, Calif. to Robert and Eleanor Reid. Previously a resident of Orange, Calif., she has lived in Gardnerville for 32 years. She was a graduate of Western High School in Buena Park, Calif., and worked as an administrative assistant for Parole and Probation for the State of Nevada. She married her husband, William F. Sugden, June 27, 1962. She fostered rescued ex-racing greyhounds for Greyhound Unlimited and a member of the Valley Cruisers Car Club.

She is survived by her husband, William F. Sugden of Gardnerville; sons and daughter-in-laws Robert Sean and Susan Sugden and William L. and Donna Sugden, as well as her beloved greyhounds, Gracy, Amanda and Tillie, Danny Boy. Misty (deceased). She is also survived by her brother Robbie Reid of Walker, Calif., and three grandchildren.

Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville. There will be a viewing, 9-10 a.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home with burial to follow after services at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden. Christine Angel Williams

1915-2006

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the Carson Valley Christian Center on Stephanie Way for Christine Angel Williams, 90, who died Oct. 11, 2006, at Barton Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Williams was born Dec. 23, 1915, in Snyder, Texas. As a young woman, she moved to Venice, Calif. where she married her husband, Robert Ellot Williams on June 13, 1937. She was a lively woman and loved her family, arts and crafts and spent time as a church caller and wedding planner. She worked for many years as a receptionist in a dental office and also a school secretary in Covina, Calif.

She and her husband moved to Carson Valley in 1976 to be closer to their son and daughter-in-law.

In their retirement years they spent many hours playing canasta with their grandchildren, being a part of the many activities of the family and in their free times they would travel in their RV to various places.

More recently she loved having time with her family, her church, Carson Valley Christian Center and living in Merrill Gardens. She had many friendships including Kay, Naomi and Shirley. She enjoyed knitting, bingo and her 5 p.m. glass of wine.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert Williams and her granddaughter Kelly. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Judy Williams of Minden; granddaughters, their husbands and five great-grandchildren: Miki and her husband David and their children Corey and Dani of Gardnerville; Jamie and her husband Scott and their children Alice, Wrenna and William of Nevada City, Calif., as well as her brother Herbert Walter Angel, his wife Maryanne and nieces and nephews, especially Missy and Denny.

The family would like to thank Barton Memorial Hospital in both Gardnerville and Lake Tahoe. Each person gave Mrs. Williams thoughtful and skilled care.

The family would also like to thank Merrill Gardens and Pastor John Jackson of Carson Valley Christian Center, all of whom were a very important part of her life.
