Carson Valley staying strong in league

The Carson Valley Middle School seventh-grade girls' basketball team has gone 3-2 over its last five games, picking up a big win over rival Pau-Wa-Lu.


Cassi Uhart scored 11 points and Kelsey Walsh and Holly Downer scored six each to lead the Tigers to a 29-14 victory over the Panthers.


Walsh scored nine points and Downer added six in a 23-5 win over Alder Creek and Downer and Katie Dry scored six each in a 30-20 loss to Eagle Valley.


Uhart scored seven and Walsh added six in a 36-19 loss to Carson.


Uhart scored 14, Walsh had eight and Downer had seven in a 35-4 win over South Tahoe.


The Tigers are tied for second place in league play.


In eighth-grade action, Kathleen Salazar scored 10 points and Brianne Burnside had five in a 26-10 win over Pau-Wa-Lu and Jackie Harper and Tara Richardson scored six each in a 24-21 win over Alder Creek.


Carson Valley lost to Eagle Valley 28-17 and Burnside scored five points in a 25-13 loss to Carson.


Burnside scored 10 points and Devyn Hotho and Brenna White each scored four to lead the Tigers in a 38-8 win over South Tahoe.


Carson Valley is in third place in league standings.
