The Douglas Tiger Pee Wee team will put their unbeaten and unscored upon streak on the line tonight, taking on the 6-0 Truckee Wolverines.

The Tigers have improved to 6-0 on the season and have yet to be scored on by a team in their league in the last 16 games.

The streak dates back to last year when the Tigers finished 10-0 and weren't scored upon by a Sagebrush Empire League team.

Douglas has won its last three games by defeating the Carson Senators 31-0, the Reno Falcons 32-0 and the Reno Raves 32-0.

Truckee poses the biggest test the Tigers have faced in quite some time, have only allowed point in one game itself this season.

The winner between the two unbeatens will finish the league schedule in first place and take the No. 1 seed going into the playoffs. Kickoff is at 8 p.m. at Stodick Park tonight.

JUNIOR MIDGETS

Douglas won its fifth-straight game last week, defeating a stubborn Reno Falcon team 20-6 at Stodick Park.

Though they lost their shutout streak, the Tigers showed their resiliency by overcoming a listless first quarter to record a convincing victory.

The Tigers got off to a promising start when Ryan Simons forced a fumble on the opening kick that was recovered by Justin Tenney.

Defensive stalwarts Cody Valente, Scott Rudnick, Connor Love, Daniel Lundergreen, Chase Gonzales, David Sanchez, Ruben Trujillo, Shawn Castillo and Wyle Derbyshire kept the Falcons at bay while the offense got their act together.

Late in the first quarter, Rudnick forced a fumble that was recovered by Lundergreen.

This set up the first successful drive by the Tigers, which was finished with a scoring run by Shane Fencl.

Later in the half, quarterback Sam Cochran completed a long pass up the right sideline to Christian Nielander, who was tripped up just inside the 10-yard line by a Falcon defender. Fencl once again ran the ball in for the score.

Near the end of the third quarter, the Tigers had their string of 15 consecutive scoreless quarters broken as the Falcons managed to drive the ball to a touchdown.

The defense still nearly held as it took the Falcons three tries from the 1-yard line before they were able to score.

Offensive players Nolan Lackey, Tim Fonteyn, Brandon Berry and Tim Tollefson were pressed into service on the defensive line and did a great job on the goal-line stand.

The Tigers came right back as Colton Hughes nearly returned the following kick-off for a touchdown making it down to the 20 before being knocked out of bounds.

Cochran completed three passes to move the ball inside the five before Fencl carried it in for his third touchdown.

The passing game was opened up by the solid blocking of linemen Ryan Simons, Derick Gilmore, Austin Park, Greg Smith, Kevin Owens and Brock Crawford. Fullback Corey Dillon had key lead blocks on all three of the Tigers' touchdowns.

Defensive backs Duston Gilbert, Dillon Spates, Alan Bolanos and Hughes prevented the Falcons from getting any passing game going as the clock ran down.

Douglas takes on Carson at 6 p.m. at Governor's Field in Carson City tonight.
