A Minden man died from injuries he sustained in a two-car accident on Highway 395 on Friday.

Danny Wirawan, 34, of Minden, died this morning from injuries received in the accident which occurred at Airport Road 5:40 p.m. Friday.

Helen H. Robinson, 50, of Carson City, is recovering from serious injuries she received in the accident and is expected to be released from the hospital in the next few days.

Wirawan was on Airport Road attempting to make a left turn south onto Highway 395 and into Robinson's path. Wirawan's Ford Explorer was knocked over onto its roof and he had to be cut from the vehicle.

The investigation is continuing into the cause of the accident.

Three children helicoptered to a Reno medical center after a bus hit their SUV on Thursday have been released from the hospital.

Hunter Hughes, 3, Dawson Hughes, 7, and Simon Dewit, 9, are all now home, according to the Hughes' grandmother, Ann Geary.

Geary said both Hughes boys had to undergo reconstructive surgery over the weekend and that the injuries were much more serious than previously reported.

Glass had to be removed from the childrens' faces.

Kristine Hughes was turning to get gas at the Riverview 7-Eleven when a school bus driven by Louis Bergandi struck the side of her Ford Excursion.

An initial investigation into the accident revealed that Bergandi appeared to ignore the traffic signal. No citation has been issued and the Nevada Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation, which will be forwarded to the District Attorney's Office for disposition.

A veteran of Operation Desert Storm is the new chairman of the Washoe Tribe.

Waldo W. Walker defeated A. Brian Wallace for the position in Saturday's elections.

Wallace has guided the tribe for 16 years since his election in 1990.

He told the Associated Press he won't challenge the election that Walker won 156-115.

Walker works for Bently Nevada and is in the last semester pursuing his degree in business administration at the University of Nevada, Reno.

The National Weather Service is predicting another week of nice weather, with no precipitation predicted through next Tuesday.

Today's high temperature is predicted to reach 75 and tonight's low will dip below freezing. At 6 a.m. in Genoa it is 32 degrees.
