If you were planning to do any business with the state or county, forget it. They're closed for Nevada Day. Some banks and offices will also be closed today. On Saturday, there will be early voting at Lake Tahoe and Topaz Ranch Estates as well as Minden.
The offices of The Record-Courier will be open as will the U.S. Post Office.
The Nevada Day Parade will be 10 a.m. Saturday. That means Carson Street will be closed between Stewart and Winnie. Best route around now is to take Edmonds around to Airport and then get onto the new freeway. Best way to enjoy the parade. Park a car somewhere close to the parade route tonight and then you don't have to walk so far when you are least going to want to trudge back to your vehicle.
Nevada weather ended up being the key factor for the company putting in the new all-weather track.
