The Coleville Wolves ran into a buzz saw Friday afternoon in Big Pine, Calif., losing 60-22.

Big Pine, which made it to the CIF section finals last year, dominated from the start, scoring the first four touchdowns of the game.

For the day, Big Pine more than doubled Coleville's offensive output, collecting 576 total yards of offense to Coleville's 250.

The young Wolves were forced to play without their team leader, senior fullback and linebacker Matt Carothers, who did not make the trip due to an illness.

Mark Brown did his best to pick up the slack at fullback, rushing for 30 yards and catching two passes for nine yards.

Freshman quarterback Jason Peters led Colville's offense, rushing for 82 yards and one touchdown,

Peters also passed for 129 yards and his first two touchdown passes of the season.

Trevor Anderson was on the receiving end of both touchdown passes, scoring on catches of 50 yards and 17 yards.

Anderson led all Coleville receivers with 84 yards on three receptions.

Eric Stevens returned from an ankle injury and caught four passes for 33 yards.

Peters led Coleville defensively with six solo tackles and eight assists. Anderson had five solos and six assists.

Colton Ward had five solos and two assists, Will Goode had one solo and seven assists and Stevens had four solos and two assists.

Coleville coach Will Sandy also said freshman Kodi Summers had a solid game on defense.

"Although we played a very quick and talented Big Pine team, I wasn't happy with our intensity and was especially dissappointed with our line play," Sandy said. "We were totally dominated on both sides of the ball and really took a step backward this week.

"We will have to work hard this week because it won't get any easier next Saturday when we host a very tough Owyhee team."

Kickoff is at 1 p.m. Saturday at Coleville.
